The origin of Freshome: from innovation to quality of life. How it all began
In 2004, Aad van der Starre decided to turn his passion for technology and innovation into a mission: to improve air quality. This is how Freshlight was born, with a simple yet powerful vision to purify air through LED lighting.
His pioneering idea was to integrate ionization technology into lamps, releasing negative ions capable of eliminating harmful particles like fine dust, bacteria, and viruses. The result was immediate: clean and healthy air, benefiting both people and animals.
The journey began in the agricultural sector, where the technology was quickly adopted in aviaries and greenhouses. Soon after, it expanded to other spaces—from offices to healthcare facilities—always with a visible impact: fresher, healthier environments with improved well-being.
After this success, a new stage emerged: the creation of Freshwater. With the same innovative ionization technology, purification also extended to drinking water and irrigation water.
